Global warming is one of the biggest challenges human civilization faces. It has increased the frequency and intensity of heat waves and hot weather, which results in intensive heat-related diseases caused by the limitation of the thermal homeostasis of the human body. The Wu Group studies novel fibrous materials to solve challenges in health, energy, sustainability. We develop new materials by engineering the multi-scale structure from molecules to fibers and fabrics to make contributions to the human-energy nexus.

Postdoc: Candidates with research experience in microfluidics, fiber spinning, flexible electronics, optics, COMSOL simulation, or machine learning are encouraged to apply.
PhD: Students with a background in materials science, chemistry, textiles, mechanical engineering, physical science, or environmental science are encouraged to apply.

PhD applicants:
The TOEFL/IELTS requirements may be waived if the applicant can prove that English was used as the medium of instruction during tertiary studies. The documentary proof is usually in a form of a letter or certificate.
TOEFL requirements (validity of 2 years from date of application):
Minimum TOEFL score must be equivalent to or more than:
• 600 for paper-based test
• 250 for computer-based test
• 100 for internet-based test
IELTS requirements (validity of 2 years from date of application):
Minimum IELTS score must be equivalent to or more than 6.5.
