In my opinion, if you wanna get a PhD position in Europe, doing a master in Europe is an easy track, I know many people doing their master thesis and being converted to PhDs. Also, degrees and references from European Unis are highly recognized in Europe.
But it is not easier to apply for PhD positions in US if doing a master in Europe. Doing a master in US (most expensive but an easy track for applying for PhD in US), applying for PhD programs in US directly with a bachlor's degree, or doing a research-based master (e.g., 일반대학원 in Korea, Mphil in HK) are better options. Unlike Korea, European masters are course-based, that said, you can barely have time to do research in your first year. Masters in Korea always graduate with publications, which is rare for European masters.

wow.. That's interesting! Thx Actually, I want to go abroad early to adapt to a new environment. I don't want to be confined to Korea.

I was a visiting researcher in Europe, it was my most chilling and enjoyable time during my life.

Research cultures differ a lot. For example, in computer science, in Korea and the US, there's a strong emphasis on publishing in prestigious venues, like top conferences and journals. PhD students often face a cycle of rejections and revisions, targeting top-tier conferences and journals. In Europe, the focus tends to be on project completion and dissertation, with much less pressure to publish in highly selective venues. You've done the project and dissertation, you are good to graduate. Therefore, they may graduate with publications in noraml tracks, such as open-access journals like Scientific Reports

Also, the roles differ. In the US, PhD students are still treated as students, need to take a lot courses (wasting time for most Phd students), and have much less rights and benifits, the stipend also make you at the bottom of the society; in Europe, PhD students are treated as junior researchers, typically holding work visas, and with much more rights and benifits, the stipend can make you a middleclass. Because of the cozy research environment, people can graduate more easily than Korea and US with much better mental health condition, the only thing is that you can graduate easily, you also need to face the curel job market especailly if you do not have good publications.
